While it’s human nature to want what’s best for ourselves, we don’t always know what that looks like. If we’re filling ourselves full with the lies of what well-being looks like to the world, are we ignoring the truths that God is trying to communicate to us?
I am guilty of using phrases like, “Once I get stronger or skinnier” or “Once I achieve x… I’ll be happy.” Most of us are familiar with phrases like these… We get consumed with how we look, how much money we make, what people think of us, and so on, but what we don’t realize is how limiting that is! It’s not only placing limits on what can make us happy, but it’s placing limits on a good and faithful God.
